Beat the Heat!

As temperatures rise and humidity becomes almost unbearable, it's important to keep your body cool and hydrated. We’re all aware of the importance of drinking water, but did you know that:

75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

A reduction of 4-5% in body water will result in a decline of 20-30% in work performance.

So even if you think you drink enough water, drink more. Your body needs it. And if you can’t hide away from the heat try to run cold water over your inside wrist. This will cool down your blood as is passes through you body. Or have you ever tried a cooling footbath? Just add 2-5 drops of pure essential oil of peppermint to a footbath of cold water.

Enjoy, and whatever you do, stay cool!

We would love to hear ways that you try to stay cool in the summer months! Feel free to post your suggestions below!
